Paranormal Investigator is a new tree added in the third expansion, Conquest of the Wizardlands.

Close Encounter Flip switches, operate doors, open chests all at a distance with your strange, new powers. They did this to you for a reason. This means something.

Alchemy Level +1
Xenochemistry Transmute one potion into another using experimental alien compounds. WARNING: exposure to experimental substances may result in super powers and/or death.
5 Alien autopsy64.png Alien Autopsy Passive: Alien Autopsy Occasionally discover crafting recipes from the bodies of fallen monster. The secrets of alien technology can be yours!
6 Alien weapon64.png Alien Weapon Alien Weapon Employ alien biomagnetic technology to pull meteors from the heavens and onto a monster. (It is strongly recommended you do not stand next to them while doing this.)

Rational Explanation Cooldown 90 Buffs the character by Aethereal Damage Resistance +5 Existential Damage Resistance +1 Necromantic Damage Resistance +3 Righteous Damage Resistance +2 Transmutative Damage Resistance +4 Magic Resistance +25 for 30 turns. Prevents casting while active. Can be canceled at any time.
Close Encounter Cooldown 15 Using the ability on a door/chest/lever will activate it from visible range. Locked chests and doors will remain closed.
Skepticism Cooldown 25 50 % chance to change the targeted monster into a random item. If not changed into an item, then transforms that monster into a random monster. Either way, there is a 10 % chance to trigger My Brain Hurts. Does not work on named monsters.
Xenochemistry Cooldown 50 Changes targeted potion into a random potion. Triggers a random Xenochemistry Side-effect (described below).
Alien Autopsy - 2 % chance to trigger on killing an enemy. Teaches the character a random crafting recipe.
Alien Weapon Cooldown 75 Invokes Fire 1 on the targeted tile and damages monsters in it's radius for additional Blasting Damage ( 5 + Magic Power Multi.png 0.1 ) Conflagratory Damage ( 5 + Magic Power Multi.png 0.1 ) Aethereal Damage ( 5 + Magic Power Multi.png 0.1 ).
The monster on the targeted tile itself is damaged for additional Blasting Damage ( 10 + Magic Power Multi.png 0.1 ) Conflagratory Damage ( 15 + Magic Power Multi.png 0.1 ) Aethereal Damage ( 5 + Magic Power Multi.png 0.1 ).
If the character is currently affected by the Glyph of the Eye of Ra, he/she will receive the buff Power of the Goa'uld, increasing Burliness +2 Sagacity +2 Melee Power +3 Magic Power +3 for 35 turns.

Brain Worms Cooldown 30 Sagacity +5, character takes Aethereal Damage 2 every turn for 10 turns. You have the Brain Worms! A colony of alien parasites have set up camp in your cranium, granting you increased intelligence, but causing severe headaches as they gnaw inconsiderately on your fusiform gyrus.
Xenocontagion Cooldown 60 Burliness -2 Life Points -5 Melee Power -3 Magic Power +8 You have contracted a hideous disease from outer space, resulting in a bout of crippling weakness but boosting your latent mental abilities! Also your pee glows now.
Xeno-instrumentality Cooldown 25 Burliness +2 Nimbleness +1 Trap Sight Radius +2 Visual Sight Radius +2 Strange alien nanoparticles course through your bloodstream, temporarily granting you preternatural speed and strength.
