Talk:Solution of Gold
From Dungeons of Dredmor Wiki
I believe this page is in error... or perhaps I'm misunderstanding what "invokes Midas" means.
According to the Midas page, that effect does damage, and also generates gold. However, when I drink a Solution of Gold, the only effect is that it immediately drops a pile of gold at my character's feet. It doesn't appear to do any damage to anything. While that is similar to Midas, it's not quite the same.
Also, my experience with this item suggests you're better off just selling the Solution of Gold than drinking it. I get around 20 zorkmids every time I use one (though admittedly I haven't tried it with a really high level character, and I've only drank a Solution of Gold maybe 3 or 4 times), which is a lot less than the 86 gold the page says I will get if I sell it to Brax.
- Agreed, just sell the blasted things. They vendor for way more than their Midas proc is worth. Allaryin 23:42, 28 December 2011 (MST)
